For example, do not place bulk country specific links in footer which makes the Google bot to think that your site is spammy. Although it is not a risky ranking factor for cross linked sites with unique content and relevancy, it’s wise to hosting the interlinking domains through different IP addresses and different contact information.
The search engines can effortlessly find out when relevant sites cross link to each other from within the same class C IP address. These links are often cleaned out of the ranking algorithms, if spotted. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">If your website has excessive links of this type, it can even get a penalty to your site.
This is the reason why a number of companies provided the service of “SEO Hosting”. These companies will sell you hosting on entirely different sets of class C IP addresses. Website owners frequently use this practice to hide their mini site networks, blog farms or cross linking networks. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><font size="4"><b>Relevancy Wins</b> </font></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">Cross Linking is a convenient SEO strategy to get high search engine rankings, if the sites interlinked are relevant and serves for a same purpose. Search engines give more importance to these links, if they are from relevant sites, with related content – it will benefit all your domains. If they are completely isolated in concept - interconnected blindly with the only intention of rankings and not users – then your domains will be penalized. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing"><b>Matt Cutts explaining on the same topic -</b></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing"><br /><div style="text-align: center;"> <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ufGw65-1je8" width="560"></iframe></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Cross Linking is a helpful approach for your SEO rankings but ensure that you do it in a right tactic to increase the benefits. Think of to cross link with related sites that will turn as a better usability and ranking factor. Do not over link so many sites that make it always fine. </div>

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-04NVQKx8ajE/XyLaBU70R4I/AAAAAAAADWw/lc8rMsL3ozkm4k_mwktunLJW1tbOCjPnACLcBGAsYHQ/s1066/A%2BKing%2Bin%2Bthe%2Bjungle.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Quality Score - A King in the Jungle" border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="1066" height="351" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-04NVQKx8ajE/XyLaBU70R4I/AAAAAAAADWw/lc8rMsL3ozkm4k_mwktunLJW1tbOCjPnACLcBGAsYHQ/w625-h351/A%2BKing%2Bin%2Bthe%2Bjungle.gif" title="Quality Score - A King in the Jungle" width="625" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;">Quality Score is Google's rating based on the past click through rate and inter-relevance of landing page, keywords and Ads. It determines the bid price of the keywords that are used by your ad and your ad’s rank on SERP. Increasing your Quality Scores transversely your account will have gains with lower costs and more spotlights. </span></div></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">There is a myth around the corners, that long tail keywords are given a lower quality score. Despite the fact that these low volume keywords are inclined to have fewer data and certainty, they are not penalized. On the other hand, it is a toughest thing for Google to settle on a quality score, which directs to a “temporary depressive” quality score. The answer here is to delete any extremely low volume keywords that are getting the quality score down on the whole. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><b><font size="4">The million dollar question is, whether the low volume but high Quality Score long tail keywords spoil the overall performance or not? </font></b></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">The answer is NO – It won’t harm - In general a low volume long tail keyword with a high quality score will not hurt your campaign performance as a whole. The keywords to observe are mainly the ones that have a lot of impressions, no click through and a low Quality Score. If you do come across these type of keywords, my advice is to cut off these low performing keywords into their own Adgroup, so it won’t damage the overall quality score of the other AdGroup. So the answer is, the low volume long tail keywords with high quality score will not harm the campaign. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><b>Poor keyword relevance</b> is a general reason for low quality score however it actually shouldn’t be the case as it’s simple to patch up. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">Download a list of low quality score keywords and observe if any had converted. Or else, just glance through your keywords and take the one that you think it should work. So, let’s say you have low quality score keywords that have a suitable more consequential landing page for them. You can increase the score for those keyword types easily. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">Use accurate or possible phrase match at the outset. If you are opting for more generic and not exact keywords – example, clothes, shoes, etc - you won’t attain your quality score and there will be no or conversions. So, use only exact match keywords. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">Put keywords in your ad copy – compelling ad copy in the first place – A most compelling one is Doing Ad copy testing to increase CTR and thus the QS. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">Create planned, tightly themed Ad group - craft as many ad groups as needed to make use of all high-traffic keywords in your ads. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">Place keywords sensibly with right density in your landing page. Make sure the landing page is more informative to the user, relevant to that exact match keywords and not looking spammy. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">After those steps, if still showing ‘poor keyword relevance’ while clicking on the speech bubble at the side of your keywords, it’s almost certainly intended your keyword is too broad and draws so many impressions. Use those keywords in Google keyword tool or the wonder wheel to observe if it can be wrecked down into sub-topics. </div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify;">As a closing point, the most important is increasing relevancy within campaigns and ad groups - particularly among search queries and ad text can get better quality score.

In this example, 'xyz' is the subdirectory.</div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><b><font size="4">Are they really beneficial for SEO</font></b></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Subdomains</b> are helping you to streamline your website information to make your website visitors discover the information they’re looking into your website. It will be beneficial for companies having multilingual websites, cross domain sites, having operations in different locations, having different brands, different products, multiple services, mobile-based sites, and so on.</div><div><br /></div><div>On the other hand, there are other controversies about subdomains that there is chance of search engine penalization if we use subdomains on our website. And also, there is a thought that bots will identify these subdomains as separate sites that is a completely different from your main domain and due to that your main domain won’t benefit from your subdomain.</div><div><br /></div><div><div>The <b>Subdirectory</b> concept gives your root domain a better domain authority and drives your website towards better search engine ranking and streamlining website management. To use this you have to go to Configure Your Site => Disavow Links. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It is a needed one particularly right after the Google Penguin Update and compassionate for those who sense they have been falsely knockout by that specific update intended for negative seo aimed at backlinks. Especially this is worthy for companies who mostly hang on the web marketing to sell their service or product. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The indication of “disavowing links” has been conversed for years; however Google is the initiator to set it in the limelight through its latest attention on links. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><blockquote>"Disavowing links was something that had been asked for a lot that they were thinking of making available in the coming months", said by Matt Cutt at AMX Advanced. </blockquote></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Correspondingly a lot of folks may be demanding Google should have a comparable feature, as they are the one whom are considering much about weird backlinks over their latest Penguin update. Accordingly, as a sensational move, the disavow tool which is most expected to be released by Google, such a featured tool has finally been tossed by BING. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><blockquote>Besides Barry Schwartz, founder of Search Engine Roundtable and CEO of RustyBrick says, "When I heard a disavow link tool was built for Webmaster Tools I was excited but then a bit taken back and shocked to hear it was Bing who first launched their disavow link tool [...] Bing beat Google to the punch! Is this more of Bing's attempt to win the hearts of SEOs to maybe impact market share? Possibly but either way, is this a black eye for Google?" </blockquote></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Bing outdoes Google in SEO invention. Though there are still few stuffs are lacking. That this tool will not beneficial for those who do not know what are the unnatural links that point to their websites and also it is not an automated tool to list out the links that seems to be spammy and warn you to do needful.
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It is a manual tool that will be helpful only if you come to know about the unnatural URL or page or directory by your own, so that only you can provide that to the tool for disavow. Actually this is not possible for everyone, particularly for the one whose sites are affected because of penguin update or any other backlink algorithm of search engines. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This race is not only meant for SEO invention but also to gain the place of Google. We can understand this through their recent accomplishments, as I have explained in my previous articles. Let’s see whether Google burst this move with a new completely featured tool with all the features that missed out by Bing or they are going to come with a similarly featured tool.

Image Search landing page quality signals</b><span style="text-align: justify;"><b>. [launch codename “simple”] </b></span></div><div><span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="text-align: justify;"><blockquote>This is an improvement that analyzes various landing page signals for Image Search. We want to make sure that not only are we showing you the most relevant images, but we are also linking to the highest quality source pages. </blockquote></span><div><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: justify;">At the present time image search is becoming another ranking signal in search results. Through this image search update Google intends to increase image result relevancy and improve spam detection for Image Search. This update will be advantageous to press release sites, eCommerce and B2B sites. They can acquire more benefits when it comes to ranking. As per this update Google will give importance to image placement in a website landing page and alt tags to the images. Now’s the time for site owners optimize their landing pages if they’re poorly scored in terms of bounce rates and click through rates. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>2. More relevant sitelinks. [launch codename “concepts”, project codename “Megasitelinks”] </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;">We improved our algorithm for picking sitelinks. The result is more relevant sitelinks; for example, we may show sitelinks specific to your metropolitan region, which you can control with your location setting. </div></blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Sitelinks are the ones appearing in the Organic SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) underneath the main URL. This will be helpful for the users to navigate your site’s important deep links. Do not confuse it with sitelink extensions in Google AdWords, which are appearing in the Google Search Ads. See the example below - </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sGF8PBhCuTI/XwnPWOlQyeI/AAAAAAAADMg/538Fwv0AULwDCkV49e_CCWnKI-_uJC3wACLcBGAsYHQ/s670/google_cloud_Google_Search.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Google Cloud Sitelinks" border="0" data-original-height="380" data-original-width="670" height="351" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sGF8PBhCuTI/XwnPWOlQyeI/AAAAAAAADMg/538Fwv0AULwDCkV49e_CCWnKI-_uJC3wACLcBGAsYHQ/w625-h351/google_cloud_Google_Search.png" title="Google Cloud Sitelinks" width="625" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The purpose of this algorithm change is to show more relevant Geo-specific sitelinks by profoundly analyzing site’s structure and the users’ search queries on the search page to navigate the users to the most relevant location-specific page straight from the search results page itself. If you have used geolocation appropriately, Google can display sitelinks more specific to your region and that of the user.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>3. Soft 404 Detection.</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;">Web servers generally return the 404 status code when someone requests a page that doesn’t exist. However, some sites are configured to return other status codes, even though the page content might explain that the page was not found. We call these soft 404s (or “crypto” 404s) and they can be problematic for search engines because we aren’t sure if we should ignore the pages. This change is an improvement to how we detect soft 404s, especially in Russian, German and Spanish. For all you webmasters out there, the best practice is still to always use the correct response code.</div></blockquote><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">When you are typing some page with spell mistake or clicking a page which is not available at that point of time you will be getting i.e., redirecting to an error page representing that the requested page is not available. That error page is called 404 error page and that 404 error is the standardized HTTP status code. Simply we can say that Pages not found generally return 404, a “page does not exist” response from the server. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">But as Google said, few sites are configured to return different codes, but still returns 404 which is called by Google ‘soft’ 404s. In other words, a soft 404 error occurs when the server sends a 200 OK status for the requested page, but according to Google it does not like it if your page configured to return these. In that case you should verify and set it to return hard 404s.</div><div><b><br /></b></div><div><b>4. More accurate country-restricted searches. [launch codename “greencr”] </b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;">On domains other than .com, users have the option to see only results from their particular country. This is a new algorithm that uses several signals to better determine where web documents are from, improving the accuracy of this feature. </div></blockquote><div> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">This update is happening to give country-specific results to the users according the location-based Google search engine they’re performing their search. For example, if you’re searching google.co.uk it will be good for you to see UK based search results and that is the more relevant one for you to find the things you want. If you visit Google.com (USA) and doing a search then you do not want to get the results from Google.com.au (Australia) index nor from Google.ca (Canada) search index and the other way around. This update will be beneficial for you if the businesses expect visitors from specific countries. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div><b>5. More rich snippets.</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;">We improved our process for detecting sites that qualify for shopping, recipe and review rich snippets. As a result, you should start seeing more sites with rich snippets in search results.</div></blockquote><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Rich Snippets or Rich Results are just an extra featured information that is displayed in Google search result. This we can do it by including a Structured Data in your website code. Common Rich Snippet types include event schedules, product reviews, location, etc. This improves your presence in search engine result pages and also improves your organic Click Through Rate (CTR). </div><div><br /></div><div><b>6. Better infrastructure for autocomplete. </b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;">This is an infrastructure change to improve how our autocomplete algorithm handles spelling corrections for query prefixes (the beginning part of a search). </div></blockquote><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Google made this change to help users on automated spell corrections that is suggestions when the prefix is misspelled in the keyword terms they’re typing in the Google search box. Google showing results before users finish typing will help them to find the most relevant and correct keywords.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div><b>7. Better spam detection in Image Search. [launch codename “leaf”] </b></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This is an extended search quality update of the "Image Search landing page quality signals” update. It is an attempt to discover image spam that is spam messages presented in Images. Likewise, sites which, included with many images which are identical will also be getting impacted by this update, although the site is legit in other quality norms. This algorithm update is, again created for the best end-user experience and to confirm that the website carries only good quality landing pages for its users. </div><div><br /></div><div><b>8. Google Instant enhancements for Japanese. </b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;">For languages that use non-Latin characters, many users use a special IME (Input Method Editor) to enter queries. This change works with browsers that are IME-aware to better handle Japanese queries in Google Instant. </div></blockquote><div> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Google Instant is an algorithmic feature that autocompletes your search query and shows predicted search terms as you type before you finish typing as a drop-down. Google realizes the value of acquiring the early market share in emerging markets like non-English speaking countries using non-Latin character alphabets. According to this Google does enhancements in Google Instant on detecting Japanese Queries.</div><div><br /></div><div><b style="text-align: justify;">9. More accurate byline dates. </b><span style="text-align: justify;"><b>[launch codename “foby”] </b></span></div><div> </div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;">We made a few improvements to how we determine what date to associate with a document. As a result, you’ll see more accurate dates annotating search results.</div></blockquote><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The determination of this search quality highlight is to return fresh and relevant results for Google’s end-users according to the date that document or web page is published. Consistent with the date you’ve mentioned in the content of the landing pages Google will regulate the search results based on the relevancy and freshness of the specific date-relevant search queries.</div><div><br /></div><div><b style="text-align: justify;">10. Live results for NFL and college football. </b><b><span style="text-align: justify;">[project codename “Live Results”]</span><span style="text-align: justify;"> </span></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The “Live Results” search quality project will exhibit NFL and college football scores and standings live in the search results. For those loving the football games it is good news, they should notice that NFL and NCAA games return live scores, in the latest Google search results.</div><div><br /></div><div><b style="text-align: justify;">11. Improved dataset for related queries.</b><span style="text-align: justify;"> </span> </div><div><br /></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;">We are now using an improved dataset on term relationships to find related queries. We sometimes include results for queries that are related to your original search, and this improvement leads to results from more relevant related queries. </div></blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">In this, Google improves the value of broadening search parameters and enhancing the user search experience. For example, a site selling online courses on marketing will be of value to those looking for marketing training classes, but it will also be of value to those who may be looking for books to learn about marketing. They might become the course enrollees as the intention of buyers of those books is to learn the marketing. This update Google did for the reason, that it realizes too narrowly focused search results might lose prospective, related traffic which is still related to what a website does.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>12. Related query improvements. [launch codename “lyndsy”]</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;">Sometimes we fetch results for queries that are related to the original query but have fewer words. We made several changes to our algorithms to make them more conservative and less likely to introduce results without query words. </div></blockquote><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Google enhanced search results furthermore by providing results that don’t contain the keywords provided by users in the Google search box, but still connected to the entered query. Due to this, end-users will cover the utmost search results that they’re actually looking for. For example, the term “internet marketing campaigns for enterprises” can also be connected to “online promotions for businesses”. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div><b style="text-align: justify;">13. Better lyrics results.</b><b><span style="text-align: justify;"> [launch codename “baschi”, project codename “Contra”] </span> </b></div><div> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">On this search quality highlight, websites having music or ringtones or even Google ads, commonly rely on lyrics will have better indexing and high traffic. The lyrics will be displayed in the search results itself.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b style="text-align: justify;">14. By keeping search information quality in mind, sporadically Google performs major changes in its algorithm and develops hundreds of small changes every month.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on">I have listed below 10 Google Algorithm updates by Google on November 2011, that made significant impacts on its Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). </div><div style="font-weight: bold;"><br /></div></div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">
<b>Cross-language information retrieval updates:</b></div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"> <div style="text-align: justify;">These updates are the extended updates of Cross-language information retrieval (CLIR), a progress that is regaining information inscribed in a language different from the language of the user's search term input in a Search Engine. Google launched this CLIR as said at the event "Searchology” and on May 23, 2007, it has been added as a new feature to Google Translate.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">To help people speaking different languages and to improve better user experience, Google update its CLIR, a feature available only for Korean language, is now made available for search terms in languages like Afrikaans, Malay, Slovak, Swahili, Hindi, Norwegian, Serbian, Catalan, Maltese, Macedonian, Albanian, Slovenian, Welsh, Icelandic, the languages with a very few online content. According to this, Google will now translate those search results to English language and show the translated search results in its search engine result pages. Users will be redirected to pages that is translates from English language into the search query language by clicking on the translated search results.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Snippets with more page content and less header/menu content: </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><blockquote style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;">This change helps us choose more relevant text to use in snippets. As we improve our understanding of web page structure, we are now more likely to pick text from the actual page content, and less likely to use text that is part of a header or menu.</span></blockquote><div> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">In this change Google is giving more importance to the page content and its relevancy to use it in the snippets, than the header / menu content. In short, if Google found if your page content seems to be the best answer or relevant the user's search query that content will be used in the search snippets. This will be advantageous for the keyword ranking as well. Thus, it will be good to check that your webpage content contains your most significant keywords. But at the same time don’t overdo it.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Better page titles in search results by de-duplicating boilerplate anchors:</b> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">From now on there will be less importance given to the boilerplate links and/or anchors by Google in its search results as it found they are not as appropriate or relevant. Boilerplate Anchor or link, is any duplicated or reused link with duplicated Anchor Text without any significant changes to the original link with similar Anchor Text presented within the same page. Google said they made it to provide, "better page titles in search results by de-duplicating boilerplate anchors".</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Length-based autocomplete predictions in Russian:</b> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This change in Russian language-based search is an update of the length-based autocomplete feature that is already available in the English search, that reduces the number of lengthy and irrational query predictions. And Goggle won’t make predictions that are lengthy compared to the partial query. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Extending application rich snippets:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Google’s rich snippets feature for applications is upgraded with new features to make users see specifics such as price, user reviews, etc., within their search results and this change with extended coverage of applications-based search results, this data will be available more frequently.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Retiring a signal in Image search:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">As a process of improving the search results by tweaking or removing the existing ranking signals that is not having the momentous impact, Google now decided to relinquish its existing Image Search signal associated to ranking images i.e., the importance of images that had references from several documents online. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Fresher, more recent results: </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><div>Google announced a noteworthy development on ranking fresh and most recent content in its search results, which impacts roughly 35% of searches and better regulates the algorithm for the suitable level of content freshness for the search terms.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Refining official page detection: </b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><div>In an attempt to deliver users, the most related and authoritative search results, Google puts its effort in determining the official websites and ranking them higher in its SERPs. </div><div><br /></div><div><b>Improvements to date-restricted queries: </b></div><div><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family: "times new roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;">This is somewhat parallel to the update
"Fresher, more recent results"</span></p></div><div><b>Prediction fix for IME queries: </b></div><div><br /></div><div>This change is made by Google by keeping non-English-speaking users in mind, to get improved auto-complete predictions for their search queries especially queries that contain non-Latin characters. The previous version of this algorithm was storing the intermediate keystrokes needed to input each character and sometimes it results in illogical predictions for languages like Hebrew, Russian and Arabic.</div><div><br /></div><div><div>As titled these updates of Google are so remarkable even though they’re minor changes and my advice to the webmasters and SEOs is to work towards a proper page optimization, that Google would be liked and get ranked well.</div><div><br /></div><div>To read my newer articles on time with the full keynote, subscribe to this blog.</div></div><div><span style="text-align: left;"> </span></div></div><div><span style="font-weight: bold;">Source:</span> <a href="http://insidesearch.blogspot.com/2011/11/ten-recent-algorithm-changes.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><font color="#726b6b">http://insidesearch.blogspot.com/2011/11/ten-recent-algorithm-changes.html</font></a> </div>

And its impact is larger than the Panda Update that squeezed 12% of the searches.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><h2 style="text-align: justify;"><font size="4">Let’s see what sort of searches this Algorithm change might impact </font></h2><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Recent events or hot topics</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It will impact the searches related to recent events occurring or most recently trending hot topics. By considering the users’ interest in finding the up-to-the-minute information of those events, Google now introduces this change to show most recent high-quality pages in its search results.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Regularly recurring events</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">There are events which will take place periodically or more frequently like annual conferences, elections, tournaments, matches, etc. When searching for those events users doesn’t want to see the past event details of the regularly occurring events. Now due to this change user can see the most recent or upcoming information about the events.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Frequent updates</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This algorithm update will even affect searches for the frequently changing information, but isn’t a topic that is hype or a repeated event. For instance, it will be applicable to best product searches, a popular brand’s promotion review, etc., which also need to have the most current information.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Normally we have no recognized means of rating the quality of SERPs. These freshness changes are more optimistic algorithm changes and playing a significant role on users’ search needs, and rank more timely information.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

Most of the advertisers are inquisitive and having a mere fear on how to get a google ad position. But in fact, it is fairly a simple process, but there’s so much we have to do to attain a better ad position, due to lots of Google ad-based algorithm updates. </div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on">In this article, I’ll explain what is ad position and what is the latest development that Google announced recently that will increase the probability of getting your ad position in the first page of Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). But before that we need to understand the meaning of Ad position.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><b><font size="4">What is Ad Position? </font></b></div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">It is a position of your ad compared to your competitors’ ads that you’re gaining based on your bidding and optimization strategies. Suppose if your ad position value is 1 it means your ad is the first ad showing on the first page of the search results at the place allocated display ads, and correspondingly, ad position value 2 means it is the ad displayed as the second ad and so on. </div></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><span><font face=""><b><br /></b></font></span></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><font size="4"><b>Latest Google Search Advertising update on Ad Placement </b></font></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on">Google is recurrently fine-tuning its algorithm to improve the appearance and user experience on its search results, both Organic & Paid search results. And as a continuation of those attempts Google is announcing new ad placements, i.e., displaying ads below the Google Search results, which is active from November 2nd, 2011. </div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on">Google made this change according to their analysis of its user behavior, as they found users are screening from beginning to till the end of the search result page. And that test gave them a forecast that this new ad placement might perform well in the search than the side ads when it comes to click-through rate.</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;" trbidi="on"><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><b><font size="4">How it will improve your Ad Performance</font></b></div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">This new transformation makes the Google to deliver more appropriate paid results in a search page for its users and also provide better performance for advertisers, as the chance for positioning in the first page is increased, as it is more important for the Google Search advertisers to rank in the first two pages to attract the maximum clicks and visibility from search.</div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><br /></div><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on"><div dir="ltr" trbidi="on">Users typically having the behavior of eye-screening a search page from top to bottom, which will give the advertisers a benefit, if they made their decision at the end of the page. paying a lot of attention to validation, we've developed a system to

Here's what we do: we give each of our pages a score from 0-10 points,
where 0 is worst (pages with 10 or more HTML and CSS validation errors)

two years ago, first by taking samples, now monitoring all our pages."</i></span></div>

Actually, the fact is, its just a single part of SEM. But most of the people are not aware of this fact and <b style="color: blue;"><span style="color: blue;">t</span>hey think of an Ocean as a Small Pool</b>.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
Before explaining the fact, we have to understand what SEO and SEM meant for.<br />
<br />
<b><span style="color: blue;">SEO</span></b> is a bunch of un-paid activities carried out to improve the visibility of your websites in web search engines and in SERP Pages as it is the process of improving value and volume of preferred traffic towards the website from search results of various search engines for targeted key phrases or keywords.<br />
<br />
<b style="color: blue;">SEM</b> on the other hand involves the sum of paid as well as unpaid Search Engine based/related Online Marketing and Advertising activities as its motto is increasing the web traffic, increasing conversions and taking online actions that leads to a purchase of the product/service.<br />
<br />
SEM activities<br />
<br />
Social Media Marketing - Its recognized as a higher level of SEM.<br />
<br />
Adwords<br />
<br />
Contextual Advertising<br />
<br />
Paid Inclusions/Paid Link Submissions<br />
<br />
Traditional Ads<br />
<br />
Banner Ads<br />
<br />
Article Marketing<br />
<br />
Geo Targeting - You can as well apply Geo Targeting in your SEM activities even though it falls under SEO.<br />
<br />
Email Marketing - Most of the people think that it is not a SEM Activity. But actually it is. It is a SEM method that involves the sending out of properly worded marketing mails.<br />
<br />
Press Release<br />
<br />
Blog Marketing - Based on the concept it will also falls under the SEM activities.<br />
<br />
................................. etc.<br />
<br />
<b style="color: blue;">SEM involves much more and I am also not remindful about its activities as a whole.</b><span style="color: blue;"> </span><b style="color: blue;">SEO and SEM are both a Ocean in the Online Marketing World and We are just learning a part of it.</b></div>
