Dynamic Website Optimization - Optimizing Tips for Dynamic Websites

1.      Convert the Dynamic URL to Static URL using URL Rewriting Tools and software available on the Internet.

2.      Use CGI/Perl scripts to get your dynamic sites indexed by search engines. When you are using CGI/Perl scripts, the query part of the dynamic URL is assigned a variable. The dynamic URL www.xyz.com/abcproduct.asp?id=126 will change to www.xyz.com/productname/P through CGI/Perl scripts that can be easily indexed by the search engines.

3.      One more excellent way to achieve wider visibility is to use trusted feed programs that guarantee the indexing of dynamic sites, or a specific number of click-throughs.

4.      Place links to your dynamic pages on your static pages, and submit your static pages to the search engines manually according to each search engine's guidelines. This is easily done with a Table of Contents page that displays links to dynamic pages. While the crawlers can't index the entire dynamic page, they will index most of the content.

5.      Re-configuring your internet servers –

·        Apache Server – Apache contains a rewrite module (mod_rewrite) that permits you to turn URLs containing question strings into URLs that search engines will index. This module however, isn’t installed with Apache software by default, therefore you need to check together with your internet hosting company for installation.

·        ColdFusion – You will would like to reconfigure ColdFusion on your server therefore {that the} “?” in a query string is replaced with a ‘/’ and pass the price to the URL.

6.      Just create a static page linking to any or all your dynamic pages. Optimize this static page for search engine rankings. Include a link title for all the product categories, place acceptable “alt” tag for the product images along with product description containing highly standard keywords relevant to your business. Submit this static page along with all the dynamic pages in numerous search engines, conforming to the search engine submission guidelines.

7.      Dynamically create a Google sitemap and update it. Submit your sitemap feeds to Google, yahoo and msn. It should have urls for every dynamic page.

8.      Avoid using session IDs in the URL, especially when user has not logged in.

9.      If you do need to include parameters in URLs, limit them to two or three and limit the number of characters per parameter to about ten or fewer.

10.  If you sell products, considering submitting your feeds to Google Base and automate the submission process.

11.  The Meta tags should also change dynamically whenever the content changed dynamically. Assure that the website contains no duplicate Meta Tags.

12.  Check out the Page Loading Time. Coz usually dynamic websites are having a poor loading speed. Remove unwanted codes and compress the flash and image files.

13.  Coz of the periodical changes in the content there will be a ranking fluctuation. To avoid that fluctuation, there must be daily activity for off page optimization for the business keywords and key phrases. Else compulsorily there will be a heavy fluctuation in Keywords' Rankings.
